Legal to truck on 401 Collector left lane?

    That's the question...

    I was on the left lane in the Collector today because the right lane was full of 4 wheelers trying to get off on Warden and Kennedy... Middle lane was full of 4 wheelers fuqing around driving like 9x km/h... I was on the left lane, cuz I know it will become a middle lane very soon and I have to get onto express very soon! Then all of a sudden an unmarked police car pass me flying by on the middle lane, lane change in front of me... Turn on his lights for 2 seconds and kept going driving extremely fast... :biggrin_2552:

    Yea, so I never get a ticket or anything, and I know I have legitmate reason to be on the left lane even if he gave me a $300 ticket... But I just wanna get this straight once and for all, is it legal to drive a truck on the left lane of the Collector???

    I drive in the left lane on the collector all the time heading west after coming off the 400 . They have signs on the express saying no trucks in the left lane . I have never seen those signs on a collector .

    I second what tinytim said it's safe to drive in left lane on the collectors i mean how else would you get back to the express lanes, I try not to use the collectors but when end up merging onto them i get over the the left lane quickly as possible so i don't miss the express ramp no matter how far away it is.

    The cop was probably just irritated getting stuck behind Ontario's brilliant idea the 65mph truck, flashed his lights to scare ya so you wont be slowing him or his buddies down again

    I do it all the time... Never have I been pulled over or even had a cop pass and turn the lights on...

    The left lane in the collectors is on a "fast lane" like the one in the express.. The left lane in the collectors takes on onto the transfer to get back into the express.. Also some exits ("The Allen") get picked up from that left lane in the collectors.. The left lane in the express doesn't get you off any exits or transfers... So it's just a quick lane for 4 wheelers..

    I tried to look in the highway traffic act but can't find anything on it.. So I would just keep on trucking....
