Does anyone know anything about this? Did the driver even hold a CDL? If not, is that why the FMCSA didn't weigh in, and why Federal charges weren't levied? And the driver made the excuse that a truck cut him off...
Something seems to be missing from the story here...
Lenient sentence for fatigued driving?

Most cases can be won with a good lawyer that knows how to pick a jury. The jury is the key. It just takes one strong leader that may lean toward the accused and 11 weak-minded, Politically Correct followers.

lenient my big fat behind. fatigued driving is a choice, same as dui. heck with manslaughter...should be murder rap...and in this case they shoulda buried him under the jail for FIFTEEN MURDERS.

if I remember this back when it happened the whole thing was a mess
bunch of bus companies running to monhegan sun without all the right paperwork
was a big investigation and some went out of buisness
some just changed names on the side of the bus -
Why isn't the Company up on charges for allowing aggravated unlicenced driving? There is a lot missing from the story IMO.
