guys I just replaced the cab mount bushings on my 2009 international ProStar. The bushings were completely destroyed. We’re talking metal to metal. It was so bad I was absolutely convinced I had a broken motor mount. But a sharp eyed mechanic quickly found the true reason for my extreme discomfort and pointed it out to me. It cost $80 for the bushings and another half hour for labor to install them. I cannot stress to you enough the difference it made in the comfort of my truck once those new bushings were on there.

I was absolutely convinced that the ProStar was just a piece of crap that rode like crap. I was wrong. Apparently my bushings have been worn out for years ever since I bought this truck. I am not joking when I say my truck feels brand new again.

What is really amazing is it the truck itself sounds different. It no longer has all the strange vibrations inside and outside. My engine sounds different when I’m inside the cab. My transmission shifts smoother now because apparently the vibration was causing the transmission ECU to not function properly. My steering wheel no longer rattles and vibrates whenever I’m parked. My doors no longer rub against the back edge of my hood when I open and close the doors. And there’s many other things.

But the main thing is that the truck rides so smoothly it’s like a Cadillac now. I actually enjoy hauling heavy loads now. My truck is rougher riding when I have a lite load on now. Guys I can’t stress it enough, if you’re having a rough crappy ride in your truck check your cab mount bushings. They are easy to overlook and you rarely think about them.

I will be replacing mine on a regular basis because they are cheap and easy to replace especially on the ProStar. Anybody else ever experienced an extreme difference in their rig after replacing their cab mount bushings? I’d be curious to know. I am absolutely astonished at the difference. It is the best repair I have ever made on any truck. Hands-down end of story.

They’re definitely one of the most overlooked parts that should be inspected and replaced at regular intervals.

I have my 2010 pete 387 in the shop now to change the cab bushings. I have over 1 million five on it, and have NEVER been changed! I hope I see a big difference like you did it's been feeling squirrly in the curves and on the bumps.

I will replace them this weekend on my Volvo VNL 670. I was replacing the flex pipe and since i had pulled the plastic fender i took a close look at the bushings and they are definitely bad, rubber is all destroyed. Like you said i have cab vibratio , steering wheel rattling and other things. I bought myself 20ton press from harbor freight and hopefully will do the job. Will give you guys update once replaced
