Alright yall happy fourth of July weekend. I'll be out on the road working tomorrow and Monday I'm working on making a few bucks and money isn't made by sitting at home so I'm having a nice 1 day weekend.
If any of you guys are out trucking tomorrow be sure to wave! I've got an Internal Transfer run tomorrow to the warehouse early in the morning so if you see me in my GFS volume truck on the Ohio/PA turn pike be sure to wave. I have a regular route on the fourth of July, I want my holiday pay it's good dough. I wasn't going to take off fourth of July I wanted to earn my holiday pay ha-ha!
Anyhow every one who's out working tomorrow or if you have off lets all be careful out there so we can have this conversation again next fourth of July.

I'd wave, but I'm on the other side of the country.
I was fortunate enough to get a three day weekend, but I'll be going to work on Monday the 4th, probably about 9:00 pm.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Big money for us on Monday couldn't get me to take off for anything.... everyone be safe out there watch out for the weekend warriors pulling 5th wheels they are clueless most of the time. Have a happy 4th!

Triple time tomorrow, that's tough to turn down. So yep, I'll most likely be truckin'. Happy 4th to all!

TRIPLE time???
Oh how I wish.... For $74 an hour I wouldn't turn that down either.Bob Dobalina, Mike2633, Pintlehook and 2 others Thank this. -
Pulled my last load for a while. Thanks to the 4th and my regular off days I'm stretching 4 days vacation into a week and a half. First vacation time in over a year, although roadtripping with three kids and a wife that has to pee every 50 miles will probably have me wishing I was back in the truck by day two.

Well today went off pretty good.
Actually did some internal transit work. Busier out on the road truck wise then I thought. I saw two of our Volume trucks headed to the warehouse when I was on my way back in. I also saw quite a few Anderson DuBoise trucks (McDonalds distributor for Ohio, Western PA and Upstate New York) There based out of Lordstown, Ohio I saw a good amount of there trucks. On my way back to Cleveland I was passed by two of there units both headed into Cleveland to run routes, there trucks are faster then our GFS trucks. Also saw some ABF Doubles and Landstar pulling a set of ABF pups and Schneider pulling a set of YRC pups.
Anyhow that's me out in Pennsylvania today at central command getting ready to come back home. I have a pretty sharp looking trailer don't I?
There were a handful of police out and I saw two motor carrier enforcers out. When I was coming back in from Pennsylvania there was a motor carrier officer waiting at the toll both. There was a light brown Volvo sleeper cab truck behind me and the officer popped him I saw the red lights (Ohio Highway Patrol Motor Carrier uses solid red light bars) and pulled him over into the turnpike service plaza. I didn't want them to pull me over and they let me go. I think it was because of my shiny clean trailer ha-ha.
