How many owner ops out there have lets others run under their mc number? Is it worth the risk? What all do you have to do to let someone else run under yours?

Why do they want to run under your MC? Hell it is only $300 for a MC number. Is the risk to your DOT score worth it? How about your insurance? Will they turn in the required paperwork on time that you have to keep on file? Are you being compensated for this? Unless this is part of your business plan and they are running loads for you then I would say no it is not worth it.

Only way I would do it is if they are a true independent someone that stays on top of there stuff and understands DOT laws.

Never let anyone run under it... If they want to lease on to your Company That's entirely up to you.... Just remember you are now on the hook for everything they do.... You need to drug test them Pre-Employment.... Put them on your drug consortium.... Inspect there Equipment.... One Month of them running wild on your numbers can/will ruin your CSA score.... Personally I wouldn't let someone do it in today's D.O.T world.....

What if they run drugs? You are screwed. Hit and run? Fatality? You get the idea.

I have a question about this. Let's say someone gets their own MC number. Then they lease onto someone. Does the person that they're leased into now have to do drug tests, drug consortium and if they screw up ruin anything with my business? I was thinking that they'd be completely under then, but I'd just dispatch them with what I need them to haul.

Someone that has their own MC number isn't leased to someone. It sounds like you want to be a broker. Get your broker authority and have at it
