Take a look at another carriers history. Try swift usdot 54283. I'm sure they have some oos and under points it says a +2 for the oos violations. Or at least it used to, I haven't checked it in some time now.

but this is where my confusion comes in, is i was never placed oos so is it still oos or is it not. and as also brought up in this thread %20 of your brakes can be compleetly non functional before its oos 1 brake can that yes needs to be replaced but still functioning perfectly on a 7 axle rig is not %20 of your brakes being non functional
if its not oos why does the inspection report say Y under OOSRideandrepair, Tug Toy and SAR Thank this. -
Yeah I agree he wrote it up wrong. Isn't the rule >80% of brakes need to be good? On 5 axles you have 10 brakes so you'd be down to 90%, still legal. 2 and you'd be dead meat. Is how I remember learning it.
Tug Toy Thanks this. -
yeah %80 or better need to be good on my rig with 7 axles is 14 sets of of brakes i can have issues with 3 brakes and not be oos
edit i guess that comes out to 11.2 so 3 id still be oos but 2 i should be ok, i only had 1 problem with 1 brake leaving 92% of my brakes with no defects. and it wasn't even a functional defect, -
Sorry to hear that. Why is that hole their anyway on the chamber? Do you have to ja e your extinguisher professionally mounted or can you just tie it up with say velcro? So you get these things fixed then do you go to the dot to show them the results? What is the process to getting this cleaned up?

I also noticed that he didn't even measure that brake travel on axle 3 and on 4, the one with the problem. I wonder what's up with that.

At least your home and not way in some other area so if you need to appear in court. You should be able to without much inconvenience.

Black silicone caulk fixes those tire issues? ( for inspection purposes) Ive got similar tire issues but have plenty of tread left on them...

the last thing they did in the inspection was measure the brakes marked all off them with the brakes released then brakes applied did the steer then the pusher axle and then the 3 trailer axles by the time he finished the trailer and by the time he slid under the drives the wind was blowing straight sideways and starting to sleet/rain, he came back out after just a few seconds and said all good to his buddy writing the measurements down. its kinda a pain to get under the drives on my truck guessing he just eyeballed it and didn't figure it was worth taking the measurements.
yeah i don't think there is anything to go to court on i wasn't issued any citations its just the csa issue.Shotgun94 Thanks this.
