Update: Just got a call from my employer 30 minutes ago.

They said the inspection paper I faxed in doesn't have the officers badge number, his signature/name or the report number listed.

    Huh?????????????

The admin folks at the cop shop will fix all that and post the inspection report anyway so don't let your employer ignore it. It's bound to have the police department name somewhere doesn't it?

I got a ticket on my motorcycle in Houston once and the cop forgot to sign the ticket. So I went to court on it. The DA whipped out his copy of the ticket and it was signed, later obviously. The judge wasn't swayed. She said well he's signed it now so pay it.

Way to much concern over this. It’s a warning. Turn it in. Move on. No big deal

The game in Houston is getting a traffic ticket lawyer who regularly donates to judge(s). That’ll keep it off your record most every time unless it’s egregious. Next time call Kubosh law firm.

A lawyer may be able to get it dismissed on that technicality. But if you dont contact a lawyer, then nothing will happen.

    Maybe I missed something but…
    What are you taking?
You had violations that are punishable

It sucks but you’ll get through it and probably won’t miss that part again

That's the catch 22. There is no citation so it can't be fought in court. Unfortunately it's already been tried and failed.

Well to be fair. The violations you were written for can be prevented by paying more attention.

A few years ago I had a hazmat issue that went a bit like that.

I had a shipment on board that truth be told the pickup driver in NC shouldn’t have taken it, but he did and I missed it. The freight bill said class 8, when actually it was class 5. The packing list said both. Corrosives and oxidizers aren’t even supposed to be packed together, and this was a one skid order.

MD Dept of the Environment has a hazmat compliance unit trained to do DOT inspections and they were there. He wanted to deadline me, but the Sgt with MD’s finest decided to call it a “shipping paper accessibility” violation. I think he did me a favor so I kept my mouth shut.
