Is it just the new normal for these to go bad after about a year or so? I never had one go bad as a company driver in about 9 years. On my truck in the past six years I have replaced it a half a dozen times. I remember one time right out of the box a brand new haldex was leaking down. These are all made in Mexico. I think that is the only option anymore aside from Chinese.

I had one that was like that. Turned out to be rust and crud from air tanks, or at least that's what it looks like. Ended up replacing the air tanks when one developed a leak and all of a sudden it quit eating up leveling valves.
rollin coal Thanks this. -
Are you sure your putting it on right?

Are you replacing just the valve? Or the whole assembly, rod and what else included?
-
Installed correctly yes. If it is crud in the system why only the level valve and none of the other control valves? I did recently have a very minor amount of oil in some moisture when I purge my air tanks but really not a lot. And that doesn't explain all the ones that prematurely went bad in year's prior.

Last time I replaced the rod with the level valve.

Does it ever work? Or ya put it on, run down the road and the sob is leaking?
-
I've only replaced 2 in 30 years, one truck and one trailer. @sawmill might be onto something

He could be. I guess I'll take the old one apart as best I can and see if there is any crud or rust flakes or something inside of it.

ride height might effect it. meaning that when the air was out of the bags, it puts the valve in a bind and shortens the life? Does the suspension hold air overnight / weekend?
Blackshack46 Thanks this.
