Started my inprocessing today at Lexmar in Ontario CA. Met with the Safety Manager and went over my paperwork and sent me out for a road test with one of the mechanics. I got to chose my truck and I picked a Volvo 870. 13 Liter engine with a 13 speed manual trans. My fav. It has just gone over 300K so he told me I would probably be getting a new truck in the spring. Drove real nice and was fine by me.

No Quallcoms or Peoplenet in their trucks. Paper Logs. They do have dual facing cams on the windshield with on board memory only, no live transmission. They are holding off on installing QC until they absolutley have to.

Came back and went off to take my pee test and that was it for the day and since he is going on a four day weekend I am done til Tuesday. Is a California only company for the most part and I will have weekends off which was something I wanted. They do have the occasional run up to Seattle or SLC or Phoenix. Works for me. I am fortunatly in a position that I dont have to run 4000 miles a week to survive.

Dry vans only. Was interesting to learn that they have some 57 foot trailers they use with early 2000's Cab Overs. The guy I road tested with was in the process of rebuilding the motor in one. Said they were getting harder to find in decent condition.

Will keep ya posted on Tuesday! I'm going to enjoy the last four days of my 3 week vacation. :)

How much experience is required. The website only says must be 21 yrs. old.
Glad you found what you were looking for.

Sounds like a nice gig. If I was in Southern Cali I'd be all over that. Always wanted to pull a 57 footer with a cabover.

Outside of LA traffic it's a great state to drive in. Nice open scenery and plenty of truck stops and parking.

The runs are mainly from Ontario to Tracy, Sacramento, and they are the in house trucking company for C&H Sugar in Crockett CA. I hope to be spending less time in LA than I was at my last job.

Jason has been off the past four days. I hope to hear from him today and continue with the inprocessing tomorrow. Had a house emergency today. Our freezer decided to die last night and I have got to replace it today.

Well orientation and lasted one day. Went out with a local driver for a few drops to see how their paperwork was done. Then back into the office to sign all of the company forms. No videos no b.s. from the owner and met the shop foreman when I got my truck. Spent the rest of the day moving into it. Came in thursday morning and met with dispatch and got my first load. Home Depot DC load to Lathrop. Drop and hook any time I get there. No empty trailers after I drop so i spent the night on the street and got one this morning. Off to C&H Sugar in Crockett for a load to Kroger Tolleson that delivers tomorrow at 1700. So far so good.

A load out and load back to Pomona pays $400.00. First $100.00 is per diem and not taxed. I know A lot of you don't like per diem but in my instance it works better for my taxes. Insurance starts after 30 days and they have a 401k available after 6 months. $500.00 sign on bonus after 90 days and another $500.00 after another 90 days. I came here because I wanted to be close to home and not otr anymore. Cali and Nevada and Arizona works for me. They are wanting to hire more local drivers so the line haul drivers just drop and hook in the yard.

I forgot to ask about minimum experience but I will when I see Jason again.

    That's it so far.
