my dad used to get this problem frequently in Kmarts parking lot. the police would NOT respond because it was PRIVATE PROPERTY. this was all in Birmingham Al. i have an idea that changes from county to county, city to city, etc

it very well may be...my problem was in NJ....so yeah, maybe it depends on where the cops actually work rather than make YOU do thier work for them...

like the garbage pick up in my area....

we gotta separate garbage from non-garbage items and place them in separate containers (not the recyclables mind you) but things like old furniture, tv's, you name it , then you GOTTA CALL THEM 1 or 2 days IN ADVANCE to tell them you got "other stuff to be picked up, all the while a separate garbage truck FOLLOWS the first...!!!

next thing you know, (my dad says), we will have to stand outside on garbage day and put that stuff in the trucks ourselves....

what are we paying city/state services for, when we go to do thier jobs...??? and they retire on multi-million dollar pensions...???

Many cities are charging for cops and firemen to come to the scene of an accident and work it.

It's pretty frikkin weird, if you ask me. I figured that was part of what we already paid for.

Anyhow, this is really what I am posting about, then I'll let it be: If a driver spends 4 years with a single company, he or she prolly likes that company. We had a driver get fired after he hit a parked car coming out of a ready mix plant in Orlando. He waited 6 months. He reapplied. They hired him back.
IL Truckergal, your situation may be different. Not all info is in your post. But, if you liked that job, if you spent 4 years there, you may want to ask the company if they will hire you back after a certain time period.
Anyhow, no matter how you feel about that company, you can still get a driving job if you want to. Go to a local truckstop sometime and look for the lowest common denominator. Or look at some of the news stories about bad truck drivers. It's an eye opener...
