Rick is turning Roehl into a Mega Carrier just as I suspected. I hope it doesn't spell disaster for them, but I can assure you that their closely guarded Safety is our Cornerstone will be gone before you know it.

Thought I'd share something with you all. I'm currently on a backhaul that picks up early in the morning in Harrisonburg, VA. Its a four stop delivery with the first two stops on Monday morning in the Chicagoland area. Final two stops are Madison, WI on Tuesday. So what's the big deal you say? I get to go home with the load for almost two full days before the first stop. Oh and it pays just over $600 which translates to around $1.45 a mile, as a company driver. Yea Baby!

 

how long was you at roehl, i want to sign up for flatbed and try it out for awhile.......

 

I'm still with roehl, I'm waiting to get my year in before leaving, don't get me wrong, I love working here but I'm looking for more money. Its a great place to start, if after my year something happens and I stay longer then so be it. I love flat bedding. Wwaaaayyyy better than van IMHO. Love it

well i'm gonna get the ball rollin this week on getting a flatbed job with roehl, so maybe i'll have the system learned by winter, lol. thanks!

 

No problem. I do enjoy it a lot. Sicks securing and tarping in the heat. Today it was 112* outside, no wind, no clouds. Sun beating down on me while I strapped and tarped 5 coils. Sucked bad but I feel better after doing it. I've been losing weight and I sleep better, probably due to working till I'm exhausted.

I still love it.

A driver had a signature on here once that described trucking perfectly, I believe it was "its weathered before, it will weather again. Its trafficked before, it'll traffic again." I found it pretty funny.

Had a face to face Tuesday and took my DOT physical today, waiting for the drug test to come back and get my start date. Going to miss flatbedding but being a door slammin,' tandem slidin, dock bumper is going to be ok 'cause I will be home every night and make more money, have two days off a week and I bought myself a Mustang today for the commute.

 

tandem sliding is so easy at this company...no rusty crap like on Roehls trailers...and everything is air slide (like Roehls Reefer and new trailers)...oh and we have some chicken lights....the equipment is pretty well maintained.........and I don't have to call in to get a washout on my reefer...I just get it done...

Notez...that is one sweet load right there....
