Same. If I don't get a pp within an hour or two at the most, I'd send a message or call in. I've only had to do that a couple times, otherwise I'm usually pp'd before I even get empty. Love my dispatcher. Unfortunately prob will lose her when I get off phase 3.

If your new you get miles, if you are paid a little more you get less miles, if you get paid decent, you get even less miles. My experience and that of the drivers I have talked to except trainers, they get good miles and nice loads so it looks good for the students.

It seemed that I sat more for mechanical issues then waiting for pp's. I have been gone for 2 years now. Did not have an exit interview, but got a call 3 mos down the road asking if I would consider coming back. I considered it, but declined.
I have sat a bit here and there, but never more than 4 hrs. That is too long when wanting to get home, but as I remember it never was frequent. I think they tend to keep the guys on hometime fleets running since that truck tends to generate more revenue. Having a fresh driver in the seat weekly helps. I didn't get a 3000 mile week till I left, but made enough most weeks. At least the ones with no breakdowns...
Like most of these previous drivers posted Roehl is a good I will even say very good place to start and learn. Heard more horror stories from other places than at Roehl. I had plenty of ups and downs and still came out with a clean MVR. funniest thing was my best check came in my last 2 weeks with them... -

Exit interviews were kind of done on random. There was little rhyme or reason to it, I didn't even have one when I left the office. Others did and we left for the same reasons. As for drivers, the only the powers that be got involved were when the turnover numbers were too high, then they'd try to save a driver on day 13 of a two week notice, not realizing that the problem was 3-4 years in the making.
technoroom, Treefork, classic_150 and 6 others Thank this. -
When I was there I noticed the more I made the more I got to sit, and the shorter my runs got....which is why I jumped ship....I'm Jumping ship from my current carrier because I want to go back to school...thing is I am still going through a hellish divorce and I feel that the State of Wisconsin is basically going to tell me tough luck and get back to work no school for you because I have to pay she who will not be named an exhorbadant amount of child support....
