Hello,
I'd like to give a quick intro, and update till now . This thread will document my times with swift.
I've been driving for 5 months before I started with the company. What caught my eyes was the quick raises the newer equipment, and THE FREIGHT. Did 50 hours with a mentor, wich turned into over100, but I didn't mind cuz the guys was awesome. Upgraded, got my truck, went home for 2 days, and then out on the road, oh! I adlai met my DM who is pretty cool, gets me what I need when I need it, and keeps me running. I'm a hustler at heart, which is what I like about trucking (pick this up go here , deliver it figure out everything in between, and keep it movin). Yup! The truckers life is for me. Right now I'm sittin in NC, doin a 10. Ready to deliver a 3 stop load tomorrow. If anybody wants details of my experience with the company before today feel free to ask. But so swift has been on the money with everything. Mentor, miles and money. I can live without the planners in certain areas. You know pick up next load 50 miles away in 15 minutes through rush hour traffic. But hey you cant get everything you want. Thank you plus one program lol. Ok thats enough, off to bed for me, early driver gets the load lol.
Good night,

People actually live in Jersey?? -
@richirich The company is good as far as im concerned, I'm happy. Their organized, payroll is on point, and the longest ive sat waiting for a load is maybe 5 hours. Anything more specific you wanna know?
@whosedog yeah I'm from north bergen. Out of jonestown PA, but I run 48 for now. I did only north east regional at my last company and got tired of it, so for now its OTR for me. I have no complaints e either, just wish I could drive more hours, to make more money, love that I never sit, love it like mcgriddles.
@bluebonn yeah people live in jerzey, it's not so scary when your not in a 70 foot truck -
for todays update, got up at 4 (gotta stop hitting that snooze button) pretripped, brushed my teeth and bounced. Just enough time to get to my 1st stop, on the way I get AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE. gonna have to wait QC. I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date. Got to stop 1 on the dot sent my macros, backed crooked ( for some reason I never get it straight unless I can see the lines on the floor). Checked the nav for stop 2. 7 miles beautiful, iLL be early (tweety advise: use the time your getting unloaded to figure out what your doing next, don't wait till after you pull out the door, your time is gold, you don't get it back so use it wisely). The important message said move with load to next stop, lol ,im already here DM. On the way to the next stop I turned into a dead end street, yeah ill be early alright., 2nd time the navigation does this to me. Before I tried to call the cops, I put my flashers on got out, surveyed the area decided my plan of action, and managed to turn around, and still got to my stop 15 minutes early. On the way to stop 3, got a preplan pick up 60 miles away deliver in albany, Ny tommorrow, 500 miles away, nice more money in my pocket. Emptied at stop 3, rolled to the shipper on the next load. while im hooking to my load, I get 2 more messages. What's this I see? Another preplan, followed by a 3rd message that said "lets commit to to get you home" . Load delivers on the 23rd, right on time for my gorgous wifes bday. Now im sittin here at a rest area on I81N, tried to get to the WV terminal, but I wasnt gonna make it in the 1.5 hours I had left..oh well, another day, another dollar.
Goodnight,

My name is fastjohn and I'm considering a career n the trucking industry. I am a native, born and raised in Lasvegas,NV. I have had due-diligence in my search for a reputable trucking school and have chosen AIT,although I haven't signed anything yet. I understand that they are affiliated with Werner and swift. I am looking for honest "feedback"whether good or bad before I commit to the truckers life. If there are other schools and or companies that may be better in all aspects of the industry, please advise me. I'm an out of work Union pipe-fitter and am not afraid of hard work as long as the rewards are justified. I know and expect to earn my dues...

Hi Folks! Thinking about a career change..was a flight attendant for over 30 years and took early retirement...yea, early...then went into law enforcement as a dispatcher. Now for career number 3...I like the idea of being out on the open road (instead of the skies)...no boss looking over my shoulder and trying to micro-manage me. My questions are: 1. Is Swift a decent company to work for? and 2. Is this career one for a lady at the age of 54 (and in good physical condition)?

Whats up TTR,
Very easy day today got up at 2:30, pretripped, brushed, and bounced. Needed breakfast, since I don't have any food in my fridge, no sense in restocking, since I'm going home tommorrow. Half way through MD I here this country love song...i start to get nostalgic. I call my wifey.
Me: baby, you awake?
Wifey: I'm always awake for you my tweety
Me: do you love me baby?
Wifey: with all my heart
Me: would you still love me if I was broke?
Wifey: WE ARE broke, but I'll always love you.
ME: even if we lived in a cardboard box under a bridge?
Wifey: then I would make it a home for us.
I proceed to whisper sweet nothings into her ear all the way to the loves at the jonestown terminal. I park at the fuel island, we hang up. Before we hang up I remember how she called me crying 1.5 months ago, crying about the doctor s finding cancer cells in her cervix. We have no insurance I ran my butt off my second week solo to earn the cash to get her treatment done. Thank you swift. I don't know what I would do without my wife and 4 month old baby girl in my life. Moments like this remind me why I refuse to give up. Grabbed some mcd a pack of smokes, and zoom zoom. Drove non stop to albany, I think like 7.5 hours. Delivered got dispatched, and....wait no fuel route. Messaged my DM. "hey I need fuel, I'm on red. 2 minutes later bam! Pilot 16 mies away drove there fueld , parked, scanned my sheets, took a much needed shower, grabbed 2 bags of doritos and a pepsi, checked my routing and my hours left to drive, rest area again tonight. (tweety advise: get as much done at one stop. Shower, laundry, fuel, all that good stuff, so you don't have to stop multiple times during the day, minutes wasted with multiple stops add up during the week...add up to less loads. Efficiency is key to getting the big paychecks.) Planned on stopping at the last rest area on I88 west but the first one said "next rest area closed" ...dam now I gotta get up early again. tommorrow is a short run anyway, 200 miles total left to go, and then finally...after 6 weeks ( que the music)
"I'm coming home, I'm coming home,
Tell the world that I'm coming home,
I know my kingdom awaits, and they've forgiven my mistakes.
I'm back where I belong,i never felt so strong"...i don't know the rest of the song lol sooo
Goodnight,
MrtweetyTapeworm Thanks this.
