Life at American Central Transport (ACT)

Looking good. A quick question maybe you can answer. Do you know if you can pay off the truck early? Like say I had the money for the balloon plus 6 months of payments would they let me pay it right then or would I have to wait til the end?

 

Kujo I asked the same thing and was told not a good idea.The way the leases is set up it's not smart or reasonable to pay it off.Mines on 46 mos.and the last month is 12,000 but month 45 is 26,468 month 44 is 28,618.So you can see it's better to wait till the end,and keep banking your cash.

 

That's kind of a bummer. You would think they would just calculate the weeks left plus the buyout. I would have thought they would like you paying it off not punish you.

 

Sounds like your turnin and burnin BK..good job...couple questions (for anyone at ACT)

During orientation...Do they issue new medical cards or will a current with long form suffice?
Do all the lease trucks have APU's?
Are the trailers air or spring ride?
Does ACT provide accomodations during orientation or do I need to make my own arrangements?

You will take a physical in orientation then they will give you your med card. All the trucks should have an apu. Most of the trailers are air ride. I have seen a couple spring ride trls. They will put you in a very nice hotel. I think a motel 6.
