So i decided to start a play by play for my trucking adventure here. Right now i am doing cdl school in columbia, ky with Lake Cumberland CDL and am graduating next week. I have narrowed it down to two companies i want to work for PGT and Maverick. I would really prefer PGT because of the percentage pay and such. The only setback with them is they said they cant help me with anything until after i graduate and they hire 4 new drivers every 2 weeks so alot of factors to try to get there even though i have heard amazing things about there company. I wonder though to they hire around the kentucky area i am 45 miles south of louisville, ky. Now with maverick they are questioning my medication from the military since i have PTSD, sever anxiety, moderate depression, and a sleep disorder. Sounds like i am crazy but i am not thats what the meds are for lol. They said that hr will give me a call to verify my medicines. But besides that i am in the door there. It is so stressful to figure this stuff out. Some advice would be appreciated as i am in the middle. Also guaranteed slot for TMC and orientation would be on the 30th. But i hear alot of mixed reviews about them mostly bad. And i have seen alot of TMC drivers want to or have left the company. So fellow drivers what should i do. Would prefer local jobs but i need money because my family is poor in crazy debt and in a hole so deep feeling claustrophobic. And the only solution is to get a regional job and haul loads like there is no tommorrow. Thank you for advice or comments. Looking forward to being part of a community again felt lost ever since getting out of the army.

Hi and welcome. PGT (i'm assuming PGT out of Monoca, Pa.) runs N/E, not sure how far south they run. Your med condition could be a problem. Good luck, hope things work out.

Also i want flat bed cause its good work and good pay with the percentage pay. Also with the meds i dont want to lie because sooner or later they will find out and i dont want to get in by lieing my merit and my hard work should be more than enough.

Sleep disorder is a big problem if they know about it. Probably won't hire you or require you to do a sleep study & maybe wear a CPAP machine while sleeping. I have a big time sleep problem but no company ever found out about it. My wife knows because I'm up at all hours for seemingly no reason.
