I happen to own a big house truck and I park in truckstops just like everyone else. I have a 53' trailer with the tandems all the way back(no slider) but I have years of experience and know where I can park and where to avoid.

Also we don't need anymore hobby truckers out here lowering rates. Buy a rv and get it out of your system and go back to your job.

Everyone has to start somewhere right? I don't plan on buying an apartment of wheels right away, I'd take my time to understand what I'm getting into, but I'd imagine the majority of truckers lowering rates are the 7-14k beater trucks from the 90's and soforth with no overhead that lower rates. Id attempt to make 1.74cpm off the DAT Power board plus others, knowing I can afford to wait for something to haul me elsewhere.

But even then that's just from the research I've done not sayings its probable and would not assume so I could until I had some real time on the road.

Thanks for the reply even if it was a "Get off my lawn" type. How do you like your large truck? How much do you think you save being able to have a kitchen to cook your own meals with space? Also must be nice having a wet bath. Do you use a generator instead of idling your truck?

Jebus... what do you do at 11pm with that thing on the east coast? Get the hood removed at a rest area? The only way you're getting it into an east coast Love's at night is to have Dumbledore come magic it in there.

    No thanks.

Yeah I figured it would be best to make the west-Midwest my stomping ground I would avoid many city's but it would all come with experience. Night driving is what Id want to do most parking as far back or in the first spots is what I thought would be required, also finding the right niche as well, maybe livestock or LTL like you said,

Thanks again tho, your responses are exactly what I needed, A reality check on blm land and the parks is great to know now! Really is sad to think about honestly.
