Moving along and singing a song, no noticeable slowdown in cryo/gases up here. Still doing my 45 hours a week.

Newborn came on Wednesday, but went to the hospital on Monday. Boss told me he’d put me in for 45 and to save my paid time off for when I needed it.

Almost 2 months since I walked away from ltl and took a job delivering gases/cryo and I have no regrets either. Some days can be more physically demanding than others but you can’t beat the consistent schedule/hours that this job offers as opposed to ltl. I also consistently get 45 hrs a week. Was only getting around 25 a week when I left ltl in February and it was mostly dock time. I can’t imagine what it would be like with all that is going on now with this virus had I stuck around. My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner!

Yes the time has passed by quickly. I do agree that I got out at a good time. Things have only gotten worse since I left according to some of the guys that I used to work with. The cryo side seems to be much more stable than ltl, which is reassuring in times like this.

Airgas is hiring in my area , I wonder what starting pay would be. It says 3 years driving experience needed I only have 15 months solo driving so far.

It's nothing that a good interview can't fix, maybe they would be willing to reconsider the 3 years experience, unless their insurance has something to do with it.

I would still give it a shot even if it says 3 years experience. If you have a clean driving record they may consider giving you a shot if they need drivers bad enough. Pay will probably vary depending on what part of the country you live.

    Danny707 and McUzi Thank this.

That's certainly the @Chinatown way. Worst they can do is say no or ignore you.

I'm a little skeptical about them relaxing their experience requirements given the fact that there are a lot of experienced LTL drivers with hazmat endorsements looking for work right now. Always worth a shot though.
