The driver keeps his points when he leaves but I have seen nothing that would indicate a new company would inherit any of the previous points that stayed with the past employer.

    Tazz Thanks this.

The new company will NOT inherit any points from a driver coming to their company. Nor will the driver leaving a company cause the old company to loose the points.
This is a false rumor that has been around for a while, even though the FMCSA stats clearly in all their information about CSA that it is a false rumor.
What will show up is a red flag on the driver for when that company goes into a review. They will double check that driver to make sure that they have a current CDL. Since most of these are caused by unpaid tickets and unpaid child support.
The sad part is on that issue is that many times the driver will not know for months that his/ her license is suspended.

    BigJohn54 and Tazz Thank this.

Thank all of the resopnses, I asked the question in an effort to have a quality conversation beyond the truck stop politics and C.B. Ramboism. It is as I have been saying for a couple years now, drivers are beginning to realize just how important we are to the wellfare of our country. I use the word evolution, because it best describes the priority changes within the society of truckers.
Yes we are a society, no different than the closed world of lawenforcement, the military, politicians and any other organization who feel themselves to be leaders and decision makers, with one major exception...... we have to pay our own way! We are not a socialy funded organization, that could not operate without the money taken from us through extreem taxes in the form of made up fines by law enforcement. Unnessisarily high fuel and insurance prices. Low quality food at truck stops and as you know the list goes on.
I think I should tell a little about myself.

I started driving in 1989, I have at some point in my career pulled most every thing that could be put on/in a trailer.
I taught for 4 1/2 years at two separate truck driving schools.
Have gotten only two tickets in a commercial vehicle, while remaining accident free.
I am an AMERICAN first, independent moderate second. I hold no loyalty to any political party. However, I will continue to listen to all sides.
I am a christian, I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I don't believe a dog should have more rights than a human. I also believe that we as Americans must re-learn how to be selsuffuffenent. Meaning drill baby drill and make baby make!
I believe that American jobs should be for Americans! Be they natural born, or have gone the the process of citizenship.
I believe our boarders should be secured now and mexican drug cartels be at once labled terroist and eleminated accordingly.
I believe that real health care reform that begins with the ending of the pratice of overchargeing the consumer (u and I) .
I belive that public assistance ( welfare) should be for the diabled, and survivors of natural disasters.
I also believe that "American" who prefer to have thier business over seas, should be prohibited from doing business within the U.S.. futher more all goods manufactured on forgine soil should be taxed at 100%. CEO pay and bonuses should be caped at 1 million dollars, and any amount above that amount is to taxed at 80%.
These are my feelings, and have no shame. Please feel free to comment, as I said I listen to all sides. Now that you have gotten it straight from the Horses mouth, now we can go forward. Pleas feel free to as questions, I may be able to answer them, and if I can't I'll tell you that I can't . Thank you in advance....Steven Mangram. Stevenmangram@gmail.com
