Well I can say this. I have been a Georgia state corrections officer for the last 7 1/2 years, and I start training with Millis on Sept. 15. I think it is going to be a great thing and alot more money. My wife is behind me 100%. only draw back is the kids. We have young children and they are going to have to cope with dad being gone alot more, and dad is going to have to cope with being gone alot more.

better than coping with dad as a CO if you ask me. i looked at being a CO and i have to say that my hat goes off to you sir. that has got to be one of the hardest jobs out there. you deal with garbage all day long and then, somehow, have to set it aside and go home to your wife and kids.

personally, i think that even though you'll be gone, they'll thank you for it in years to come ... COs are notoriously short-lived. best of luck to you man.

That will be happening soon. We specifically looked for a company that allowed non-spouses to ride along since we had no plans of marriage when he started. As soon as I get things settled up here in Nevada, I plan on going out with him maybe every other month. I don't want to be away from my daughter and granddaughter, and unborn next grandchild, and my father for too long.

I couldn't agree more! My unfortunate first marriage was to a CO.:biggrin_2553:

I start training in Georgia on the 15th also. As far as I know, there are only three people in the class.

Yeah. I've been fixing copy machines for the last 10 years. Millis seems like a good company. I think the change is gonna do me good.
