Really Pattyj writes the same thing over and over always blaming the driver never the company, Must be a special world pattyj lives in.

 

Enough with the entitlement mentality already. Nobody claimed to be perfect as your straw argument claimed. All of us have made mistakes. The big difference is some of us realize its not someone elses responsibility to pay for our screwups.
The truck didnt drive itself into another object. Thedispatcher didnt drive the truck into another object. Neither did the shipper,the reciever or the dog peeing in the grass across the street. THE DRIVER DID!
If the company is nice enough to take the hit on their insurance rates to cover the drivers screwup be grateful. This whining because theyre finally sick of it is bs.

This industry has become DOG EAT DOG ,these rookies better get with the program...they will try to get away with anything a dumb truck doesn't know about ,it's not just a job ,this is business....if you just started this career ,you better take the time to learn what they didn't teach you in driving school...LABOR LAWS ,GENERAL LAWS ,BUSINESS LAWS ...and if you don't ....you better get the KY jelly out and learn how to apply it to your wallet,prepare to be brainwashed into feeling helpless and having a slave mentality,while you're on the job 24/7 risking your life everyday for chump change,doing lots of free work ,while your self serving policy making cowards are making eyes at your wife ,which btw hasn't been boned lately because you are 1200miles away all the time....think about it driver ,and get your self informed about laws and such ....remember this is business better wake up and get some stones and without drivers they don't have a job,if your dispatcher has a bad habit of leaving you sitting around camping at a truck stop ,start demanding to make money ,go over his head if you he don't get the message maybe his boss will wake him up ...

 

That is such a lie.If you read my many posts on the form most the time I defend the drivers.I look at both sides.Im more pro driver then pro company.

 

Just my 2 cents, but if youre paying for the damage then it shouldn't go on you record. You've rectified the issue and they now have no claim.

 

This driver didn't sign anything ....this is a tax write off for the company and why we buy insurance,the company knows this ....if has time in with the company to qualify for unemployment ,he will have no problem getting it ...in fact when he files for unejoyment ,his boss will probly want to put him back to work because the company will be paying the first two weeks of unemployment ,while the driver is fishing at the lake waiting for 1500 trucking to call bugging him with what company package offers ...and the company is also luck to not have a wrongful discharge lawsuit pinned on them by the driver....lawyers are easy to hire these days if they deem you have a case...pay em when you win ...i wish i could find a company like this to do with me ,i need a new Harley anyway

 

Collecting unemployment isn't as easy as that.There's a phone hearing between the company and employer then in a week or so they'll send both parties their decision on the matter.Also he quit so that makes it even more difficult.Considering what I have read about him and all the dings on the equipment,doubt a lawyer would take his case.

 

....everyone makes mistakes but the driver is not responsible for the companys insurance rates ...that's business,that risk goes along with profits ,also a tax write off ,this didn't agree to pay for anything ,he agreed to do his best and hit the ball for the company ....he is like any other driver he doesn't drive for the company ,he drives for his family

 

I run the other way if someone feels the need to inject their faith into a conversation with me.

I refrain from doing business with anyone who has a religious symbol or wording in their company advertising.

People with religious values are great to deal with. People that advertise these values are people to be avoided. IMHO, they tend to be similar to the slippery salespeople who keep using the word "honestly" and "trust me". SHOW me how ethical you are - don't tell me.

FYI - I happen to believe myself - I just think that actions are far more important than words.

 

I agree patty ....unemployment can be a pain but it is retro active to back pay .
