Yeah I know never knew that much about a ab amp other than they take a really low deadkey like all Texas star amps

It's kind of hard to generalize.
How much carrier is required to drive the amplifier is determined by the number of transistors in the amplifier and how those transistors are biased.

If a class c amp is set up correctly you can hammer a straight 4/6 or 8 pill watt wise till you cannot hammer it anymore the radio is pushing the amp. No 2290's pushing anything... my radio be it my magnum or 4600 turbo. Will pop the breaker before it will damage my amp... class a/b amp usually a cobra 29 General Lee or magnum s series the amp uses 2 2290 pills driving 8 2879's the amp is doing all the work---------class c straight 4/6 or 8-----radios driving amp. Most power hungery bird watt happy fools actually can do overdrive amps. No breaker or in line fuse in place..... its marshmallows and Weenie roast time. Look at that truck dad now that's a fire !!!!!

Class ab amps always use a very low deadkey aka Texas star..... class c 15/20 watts is all that's needed for the radio to swing what it's got into the amp.....

Every amplifier has limitations and you need to stay within those limitations.
there is always a mathematically correct way of doing things.

That is not true. To make that determination you need to look at the transistor manufacturer input specifications
and multiply that number by the amount of transistors. You can't just plug a random number into the equation and get your desired number out of the equation.
There is always a mathematically correct way of doing things and that just gets you in the ballpark.

You guys are really something else.

Half of what is posted is wrong, the other half is not easy to explain and even the third half lacks anything to back it up.
