Perhaps you can explain why this happened outside of David Bupp's shop after he supposedly matched the radio to an amplifier for a customer

Some people like to muddy the waters to create confusion and sit back and laugh about the confusion. But you are correct
-
oh yeah try running a big amp in a truck with no extra help like some rf shielding or just straight down to one battery farthest away from the alternator and see what you get.try running cable on a 6pill or 8pill that's not thick enough for the current it carries like 8 gauge 6 gauge or even 4 gauge cable. I know better you'll shut that truck down and hope it can power it self back up. I run a straight 8 pill in a turdcadia....but I'm not giving all my secrets away to a bunch of idiotsrabbiporkchop Thanks this.

yeah what he said. most of these cb shops so called techs wanna turn it up and burn it up....
-
too funny. guess that's what you get when you deal with a sicko pedophile !!!!!
-
That's what happens when you deal with someone who thinks phase angle doesn't affect oscilloscope readings and who makes adjustments based upon false readings.bored silly Thanks this.

Don't know, really don't give a crap. Looks like a fire, maybe caused by a problem with maybe an electrical short, most likely triggered by a poor install.
But let's talk about the ECM, do you guys know how they are tested?
Of course not.
How many of you know what a anechoic chamber is used for?
Not trying to be a smart as but it is unlikely that rf caused any meltdown but rather the poor power design within the amp, cuasing a surge. I had an issue with this crap a long time ago, it turned out that the amp was not isolated enough from chassis system, it was a nice 'tower of power' amp made by some clown who was part of Texas star. All junk. -
I guess you haven't done too many comparisons of technicians from coast to coast. Every amplifier that came from David Bupp shop sounded like crap.
Mysteriously the fortunate customers who took my advice and took that same useless equipment to Mark ended up having very good luck with that same equipment and sounded excellent on the airwaves without causing interference on adjacent bands.
(Rendering useless your theory) I would venture to say the technicians inability to take crappy equipment And reengineer some things and have a tuned bench capable of consistently producing perfect work at the 11 meter band to make it function in a desirable manner is what contributed to the truck fire.
This is just one example of hundreds I've observed.
It's always the technicians fault.
If the technician tells you to install it in your truck and he fails to give you specific instructions on how to make your electrical connections and what gauge wire to use then it is still the technicians fault.
If the technician tells you to throw the amplifier in the trash and you still disregard the technicians advice then it becomes the driver's fault. -
no but the amplifier can fry the ecm it's interference to the trucks electrical system and more
-
I'm thinking a blade fuse down at the battery would have been a good idea. blows the fuse before it blows up the truck......Lol
