I find it funny every morning when everyone is asking for a radio check the most popular response is " its working" duh you think, can you be a bit more specific, like how does it sound etc. The other day a driver got that exact response from another driver, but I could barely hear him, so I replied with " modulation is low turn up the mic gain" which he promptly did and sounded great and he replied " didnt know it was down thanks". So these same drivers that respond " its working" are also supossed to be able to tell one if his radio sounds good, please! I think I will trust mine to a scope and a analyzer.

I'm not seeing any assumptions being made. I've been to almost every shop in the country that's open to the public.
There's only one shop in the country that has the technical expertise to make a radio perform with a Class C amplifier the way my stuff works.
that's probably why most people don't like Class C amplifier because they're incapable of making them function correctly. -
that's the only part that matters. Opinions mean absolutely nothingwolverine11 Thanks this.

There's also a difference between asking for a radio check and asking how's radio sound. There's a lot drivers out there working a bone stock cobra/uniden on a crappy factory antenna system which usually results in low audio signal and strength. But if you can hear them, technically it's working.
You however answered the unasked question of how his radio sounded. Which was good on your part because he obviously didn't realize his mic gain was turned down.wolverine11 Thanks this. -
Some of us go so far as to do our own Radio Checks.. I Don't Trust anybody's opinion but my own..

You mean to tell me everyone is asking for a radio check because they are afraid that during a 10 hour break that their radio stopped working even though it turned on and they can hear chatter? Im pretty sure the questions have the same meaning, I think the only reason alot of drivers ask for radio checks is because they are unsure of the work they had done to it , and they have had problems in the past, and they want to make sure the radio isnt crap again. I cant believe how many problems drivers continually have with their radios and it is the result of poor tunes.

And I've done this numerous times in the past when I had a base station. I was always happy with the quality of my audio. And personally I don't find your audio very pleasing. But if you're happy with it, which you obviously are since you like to post your video's everywhere, then that's all that matters.

I personally believe many drivers, especially with stock radio's and antenna systems do wonder if they are actually getting out at all. Because with the higher power radio's around they get walked all over and can't get a comeback when they try and talk to someone.
While I'll agree some people will use the terms interchangeably, I personally will ask how my radio sounds if I'm curious because I know my radio is "working". -
That's probably just my annoying voice.
Cuts through qrm like a knife through butter.
The Fidelity of that recording is about as true to my original voice as it gets minus a few hundred Hertz clipped off the bottom For performance reasons.Last edited: Mar 12, 2017

To me it sounds like it has terrible low frequency response, which to me makes it not very pleasing to my ears. But again, if you're happy with it then that's all that really matters.
