Bored, appreciate the info, but ... But ... I worked with a few of the guys who designed them at Cummings and DD when they worked at the same company I worked for. They tell me that it is rare to have a real issue with rf, but surges and spikes will cause damage and this is where high current key downs can be a source of these spikes and surges.

well that makes perfect sense the only issue I've had in running a lot of power in a crappy trk. is my very bottom dash lights blinking on and off . I'm pretty sure a ground strap down at my batteries to the frame where my power is hooked up would even cure that. I was told I don't need to but I'm not really buying that !!!

I had a truck where the #### thing would stall out when I turned my radio (stereo) on. It was frustrating. I had the shop check every cable and they said they were all fine, but while sitting in the lounge waiting for the paperwork some old trucker guy said it was a ground cable, and convinced me to just replace the three on the truck. I had to fight with the shop manager to get it done, left the truck overnight and came back to find they replaced them and the problem went away.

What in the hell is a sweet 16?
