I'm a company driver that gets paid percentage of load minus the extra fuel surcharge amount.
I don't expect any fuel surcharge..let me make that clear..I do not pay for fuel..company gets fuel surcharge..
This is my problem.. load pays 25 dollars a ton for a 23 ton load which equals $575 plus fuel surcharge charged to customer. . I'm supposed to get 31% ..which would be $178.25.. company is telling me they only get $498.14 and only paying me $144.66 for load.. which is only 29% of the 498.14.
Just want confirmation that I'm getting ripped off by special math..
I know what company is charging customer..
Linehaul percent company driver, and the math doesn't add up.

Let's call Load $ = X
Fuel Surcharge = Y
Is it: .31X - Y or
.31 (X - Y)
Might be that they are deducting the fuel surcharge from the total amount paid and then applying the percentage.
If Z = total amount paid then
.31(Z - Y) makes sense
Ask the company to show you their calculations and ask why your percentage is 29 and not 31%.ducnut, red_eye and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
The company rounds things off in their favor and I've rarely ever seen things adjusted in the driver's favor.
Some places justify their thumb on the scale as the cost of doing the back office...

The 170.57 is the first load on invoice -
"And boss says he just upped the "fake" rate to make it right"
Are you saying that he corrected the 588.17 and changed to 804.96?
So both the rate and percentage are wrong. He needs to fix the percentage and not just the rate.
Hard to tell as I can't see the whole document. If you want, PM me the doc or I can give you my email there.
It's not so much the math as it appears he is using a bogus rate or got things mixed up. How long have you worked there?red_eye Thanks this. -
