i can only think of one situation and that would be if you were only 2/3 days out and for some reason you were sitting longer then you had planned and dident want a restart when you had soo many hours avalible.

There is no minimum as long as you do not drive the truck after being on duty/driving after 8 hours without a 30 minute break.
If you take it to soon though, you may need another 30 minute break.
Example: I start working @ 8:00 am, I drive 1 hr, then break 3 hours (at customer). I have 10 hours on my 11 & 14, however after 8 hours of working/driving I must take a 30 minute break, which now means total brk time was 3.30 hours that period.
If I start working @ 0800, drive 6 hours, take a 3 hour break, then I can drive 5 more hours and no 30 minute break needed again.
Most drivers already get a 30 minute break every day! Most do! Timing might need adjusted a little l.o.l. I think it's crazy because it
forces you to drive a little longer even if you are ready for a break so you don't have to take another 30 minute break later.
I do think you should not be allowed to drive 11 straight hours but I preach you legally can until 7/1/2013! -

That's what I'm getting at I start my day at 6am I get to my customer at 8am than it may take 5 hours to load me so before I pull out can I show a 30min off duty? Than be good the rest of my 11/14 day?

My question is: if you begin your 34 hour restart on Sunday morning at 1:00 am and then the next Saturday you have the weekend off but do not go back out until Monday afternoon, can you start your 34 hour restart at Sunday at 1:00 am even though you have been off already?
