Just thought I would post about my new USB headset I use for skype on Linux. The Logitech H530 works out of the box on Linux Mint 13. Plugged it in and made a skype call. No driver installs, no reboots, nothing. Truly plug and play. So if you're looking for a decent headset to use with your linux machine, try the H530- all functions work, too, like the volume and mute controls on the ear pieces.

i've been pretty happy with the standard built in laptop equipment. none of the people i skyp with have a headset.

but in the old days. i'd just use a cheap headset. that plugged into the mic and volume holes.
