there is no such thing as an empty line.. at least with anhydrous.

Also close the vapor line on the last 5% of loading. That way your trailer will have higher pressure than where your delivering.Crude Truckin', austinmike and OhNoTerry Thank this. -

There was a time when drivers of certain commodities, particularly hazardous ones, got a premium for doing those jobs. Today, I don't think it pays anymore than diapers in a van trailer. With all the dangers on the road today, you might be better with the diapers. In my millions of miles in a truck,, I hauled ONE load of gasoline. The company also did LP and Anhydrous( nastiest stuff) It clearly wasn't for me. Considering how much propane travels our roads, especially now, I think crashes are very rare, and you'll do fine.

Also we used to sit in the tractor while pumping the load off . So you could shut the truck off in the event of a leak . Now most companies , receivers make you stand out by the manifold of the trailer while the truck is pumping away. So you can close the internal valve I guess.
sorry but that’s desk jockey thinking and is wrong. At least if your using a truck to pump off. -

And the trucks still running at high idle and if the propane gets in the air cleaner is all over…….
If you using the truck to unload a trailer you belong in the cab……
