Here in WV on I-64 we’ve had construction going on for a couple years now. Been quite a few accidents from folks speeding and not paying attention.
Week before last we had another semi truck crash here at exit 18 on I-64.
During our council meeting last Tuesday our police chief explained what had happened to cause the wreck, he told the council members and us as well that the semi driver had been texting on his phone and went through the guardrail, down the embankment and turned over on the entrance ramp.
Up until now it was ridiculous how fast some of our fellow drivers run an 18 wheeler through here.
Well here’s some friendly advice if you’re running I-64 in WV…. They local Barboursville police as well as the DOT are now setting in the construction zone between exits 15 & 20, so if you are up for a free inspection as well as a speeding ticket just keep your hoof tight on the floor as you roll through.
Be safe out there…..
Little friendly advice for the lead foot drivers.

That said good god! You would think i was tortureing their wife and children infront of them from how much rage comes across my CB though. The Railsplitter, JoeyJunk, IH9300SBA and 4 others Thank this. -
I have zero problems laying into the pedal on the big road, construction zones, and residential as I’m usually on my best behavior though, which isn’t really much from me, but I tend to stick to the limit.
anytime I enter a construction zone I know any eld governed trucks I went by in the last 5 minutes is going back by me still on the governor -
With my 3:70 cogs and the 13 spd I have, usually 65-68 is my cruising speed, unless I’m close to or over 100,000 lbs, then I’m rolling less….. -
Rolling west on 64 in Kentucky last week, 2 trucks in front of me were obviously governed, took 4 minutes for the faster truck to get in front of the slower truck lol….. -
But yea those governed trucks are agressive little cusses. Cant tell you how many times ive been screamed at on my CB "your a #### rock bucket GO FASTER" heh -
I atively report nonsense to DOT and whatever state police jurisdiction I'm passing through.JoeyJunk Thanks this. -
They should just leave the wreck in place and put up a sign "caution texting driver ahead"

About a month ago a driver got in a hurry and made a bad mistake…..
He was trying to get on 64 west bound at exit 20 which had a stop sign at the end of the ramp since it’s right in the construction zone.
He apparently tried to beat a car and cut it short turning onto the highway and ripped the passenger side fuel tank open on the concrete divider. And unfortunately something ignited the diesel and the truck pretty much burnt up right there.
He escaped with his life, that’s a positive note…. -
Last summer a Gearjammer from NC lost his life in this construction zone.
Rolling west bound as you approach exit 20 the 2 west bound lanes split and have a concrete divider between them.
The driver hit the divider and destroyed the truck as well as ended his life.
When the police got hold of his children the first thing they ask was if anyone else was hurt… then explained that their mother had just passed away 2 weeks prior, and their dad was having trouble sleeping.
A reminder of how fragile life is, and how we never truly know what others are dealing with…..
