    Hello fellow truckers!
I live in NE Ohio, I have 14 yrs experience driving with Class B CDL, after being laid-off 9 months from a refuse company I up-graded to a Class A CDL with every endorsement in June 2010.
I need a company that will hire a newbie, any suggestions?

Getting to the point of getting desperate but don't want to join a bad company either, I know I might be asking alot, lol
some of these trucking company I make more on unemployment which is to run out at the run of July

My CDL school doesn't offer job placement...just job asst.

I live in Marengo Ohio and I got hired with Maverick. Had never driven a truck before in my life. Give them a call and tell them Jim M. told you to call.
    I get home every weekend.
You are in a good area as well, I think.

Ohiomast, Ohio is a great place to be a trucker! Maybe look for some mom and pop companies that run out of Ohio and maybe just the heartland. Living in Oh should get you home more often. However, it is tough when you have a wife and kids. Congrats on the CDLA. Did you get your Hazmat too?

most mom and pop places want 1 to 2 yr experience due to ins liabilty that is how at the last minute I got bumped from a flatbedding jig:biggrin_25510: that I was to start tomorrow from a Cleveland company. So back to square one in looking for a job again.

Well the good news is there are over 450,000 trucking companies in the US. Don't get discouraged, you will find something.

Well everybody, had interview today with Valley Transportation in Ashland, Ohio. Sounds like a company i would really enjoy working for. The only draw back is they don't have any local runs where your home everyday. I don't mind going over the road to get my seat time, but i would eventually like get a run where i'm home everyday. Don't want to miss my kids growing up, they're growing fast enough. That happened to my dad, went over the road to support his family, and before he knew it we all moved out. I'm not into using people or companies just to get my experience unless they're a crappy company or started to treat me bad. I'm 38, can't afford to be jumping from job to job. Would like to eventually retire....LOL
