I know pretty much nothing about grocery. I do know they gave up circle k a few years ago when they took on a bunch of Walgreens stuff.
We floor load nothing. I've had 1850+ cu on pallets many times. It ain't easy but it can be done. Fresh chicken can make a huge difference because it's heavy, and we can't stack anything on it because of cross contamination concerns. Usually any routes with chicken are overweight before they get much more than 1700 cubes.
Seems like every DC is different though. Some floor load all dry product.
