Livestock haulers get temporary waiver from hours rule provision

    I am happy to see this. I haul racehorses. You would not believe how hot a trailer will get in the summer with just 5 - 10 minutes of sitting. Every animal in the trailer will be sweating by then.

    A lot of the final decision was based on truck related fatalities where more than 4000 accidents where a fatality occurred only 26 were bullracks and 13 of those were within the 150 mi radius and were already exempt! So it was more a safety issue of the animal rather than the driver! Dont get me wrong Im opposed to the 30 min rule as well, however, an animal thats non-ambulatory wont make it to market!
