Have some pre-hire letters. Couple companies with terminals close to home. Been told that living close to terminal has benefits. Also been told that hazmat endorsement is a good thing also. Any opinions??

    Thanks!

HHHmmmm.....getting more home time comes to mind....!!

    hazmat...?? hazmat....??

NOT SITTING waiting for a load because you had to turn down the hazmat load which was going to the home terminal for you to take time off....comes to mind...!!!

You get to your terminal late Friday night... you have a 300 mile ride to the house... you nap in your car and get home at 10AM Saturday morning.

Dispatch calls and sez you need to be back in the saddle at 6PM Sunday... you have to leave NLT noon Sunday to be sure you are at your terminal by 6PM. How much home time did you get? 22 hours?

    OR.....

You get to your terminal late Friday night. You get in your car and drive 40 miles to the house. You are home by 11PM. You leave home 5PM Sunday to go back to the truck. 39 hours at home?

    Which would YOU prefer?
