I believe he means, if you like cold weather and aren't a PC lemming, then Montana is a great place to live. I love Montana except for the winters. Beautiful state. Those Montana citizens get riled when some politician tries to tell them how and what to think. They think for themselves.

I had a student from Helena, and he has no problem getting home, and he is based out of one of the nicest and friendliest terminals that we have, Lewiston, ID

There's some diversity, Montana still has what's left of their India... Native Americans.

Honestly, you would have better luck getting home in other places. Besides, I don't run into a lot of friendly people in Montana. Sure, some are nice, but in general they' re about as friendly as the average Chicago-area resident.

If you're looking for a similar geographic environment with nicer people, and more choices for work with better hometime, check out NE Utah and SW Wyoming. Wyoming is low taxes, and Evanston is a short drive to Salt Lake City, which is a robust transportation hub.

Boy you got that right. Last time through Montana I saw a trucker holding a yard sale, there were boxes all over the freeway. ;)

That's what I was thinking he meant, but I was hoping for clarification.

I think he means military service.

Be sure to keep in mind that there's a huge difference in getting loads TO the house vs loads THROUGH the house. If you're trying to go to the house and spend some time at the house, you will not want loads going through the house.

    Joetro Thanks this.

If you are willing to do Less Than Truckload, (LTL) there are carriers that have problems filling road positions in kingman, AZ. You would run into LA and back every night.
