You're welcome!
I understand about reading and re-reading. At my age, I have bad case of CRS - Can't Rememer Sheet! Oh well, I heard once that repetition is the essence of learning...
I think.... can't rememer where I heard that... lol!

Hey ! ! ! Nice new Forum Look !!
The only thing that kinda Bugers me is the White back ,, its kinda bright on the eyes the old Forum had a shade to it and was easy to sit and read it for hours without getting red eye ,, But its Awesome look i like it thank you Guys for keeping the Forum up and running Cleanbullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
Ok ,, so i have been taking the online Test ,, Over and Over ,, gettting better at is and still reading LOL so so much Reading ,, i am to the point that i can pass all the test on this forum and on crist and am getting 80 and 90 % .
I feel so much better about the test and what i have learned in the last month because i could not pass the test for a long time LOL but reading the DMV CDL book and taking the test on these sites really helps .,., so glad for all the tools on here , thank you !! i would like to here any comments from drivers that have taken the test at DMV and what they think about the test on here and other sites as far as being the same or close to the same and was it very helpful for them ? Thanks ...Ralph4159 Thanks this. -
The written test really isn't bad at all. The hardest part probably being the air-brakes section. Now if you take the Hazmat though that can be a bear! I think I remember taking that one a few times!
I wouldn't sweat it. If you are doing fairly well on the online tests you should be fine. Just make sure you have the air-brakes down pat! Maybe try and switch it up on the different websites so you have a good variety of questions.Traveler51 and I-80Trucker Thank this. -
chompi ,,,
Thank you , i do feel as if i have the Answers down pretty good,
Now i just need some Hands on to learn the air brakes better and go over it and over it in the cab until i feel i have it all down and can do it in my sleep .
The Pre Trip i do not think i will have to much trouble with i have been reading the list and how to explain it over and over from a post i found on this forum and its very detailed thanks to the trucker that posted it !! that's why i just love this place awesome people !! ,, like i have said before i am a very hands on guy and Mechanics is something i have been doing since i was a teen so i have a pretty good idea how trucks and auto's work and what the function is , if i start at the top and talk my way down it will all just be visual thing for me .
Thanks chompi !! you always have Great Advice !!chompi Thanks this. -
If you live in your truck, how do you deal with having an address for tax / DMV purposes? I understand most states will not let you list a PO box on your drivers lic., will one of those virtual addresses work, from mail boxes etc. or the like?
I have a friend in PA that would allow me to use his address, but PA has state taxes, would having a virtual address in a state without income tax save me much money? -
Here's a little tip to get around the whole address thing; Go to the UPS store or FedEx store and get a P.O. Box there from them. Its a little more costly then a regular box at the post office but you will get an actual address instead of just a p.o. box. It will either be a street address with a number kind of like an apartment or a street address with like a suite number. Then when asked your address at the DMV or wherever you give them the street and number just as if you lived there.
My wife and I lived out of the truck pretty much. We would stay with relatives from time to time but this is the way we kept our Fl address. We actually had this address on our license. -
I would go the mailboxes etc route. They will even accept packages for you there. Most companies want your cdl to be the same address(state) of where you reside!!!!!
-
I've done it, and it really paid off, I miss the road though, will go bac in January and live one the road, you would rack up money quick, as long as you don't buy any tacky thinks like cars, toys and women lol.
