which shows about a 6 ounce difference. -

But then i almost drop 150 rpm going tall at the same speed so it becomes the ? Is there a fuel savings with tall rubber or a higher income with LPS and a extra 500lbs cargolandlord Thanks this. -
Low pros have lower rolling resistance, but that varies with the construction of the tire; slower rpms at a given speed just means it takes more torque to keep the wheels turning, it probably won't save fuel except really light and bobtail.
The wide base singles are supposed to have less rolling resistance than the same outside diameter in duals and they save more weight
I don't think you save much weight going to low pros, but you do lower things a bit including overall height, they should take a little less fuel to do the same job.alds Thanks this. -
However your RPM change between 24 tall and 24 LP can only be about 82 rpm by mathmatical calculations and tire weight is only 6 ounces x10 = 60 ounces or 3.75 lbs.
As to your question I would have to assume that an extra 500 lbs cargo will have a higher pay-out than LP vs Tall since the driver, weather, etc.. will have more effect on MPG's than 82rpm's.
Further research has revealed Aluminum 22.5 is 56lbs or 560lbs total on the truck, 84lbs for 24.5 steel or 840lbs for the truck giving a difference of 280lbs.Last edited: Mar 14, 2009

Back to the original post, both sizes mentioned use 24.5 rims, same weight there.
If they are the same load range, the weight of the tires would be close. -
