I can never tell who's grinning and who is frowning and saying, " here's some guy who thinks he can make it in my industry, when I haven't done that great after many years in it". Some guys are really helpful. In fact, most guys are. But, some just scoff at the idea of someone coming in, having skipped the steps that most have to go through. It's all good though. Thanks for saying that.

I bet its a revolving door for the first 90 of someones career. If I had a family, I would never, ever consider otr as an option.

I've been earning off the load boards for 3 yrs now.

This year has been a little tougher but better than 2016.

You just need to have good reserves for the tougher times.

I'm on the same load today for 3000 that I got 4000 for in Jan 2018 and I was able to get 800 to 1200 more than similar loads on the same lane posted today.

I ask for more on every load and 90% of the time get something in between offer and ask.

Yup same time last year a lane I was running was fetching 2800 to 3000 and I'm lucky to get 2300 or 2400 . I have found lanes that are paying more than last year but those are harder to come by . I'm also seeing more days out on the road . Every new law or regulation and road tax seems to be targeting small operations, eating into the bottom line . Hard out here for a Interstate Pimp .
