Are there any load-boards with horses and livestock being bid on often?
How common are horses being moved by owners on most of the popular load-boards? I don't have any accounts, so I cannot tell.
An average of 6 or more loads with horses within a 150 mile radius would be great.

An average of six loads of ANYTHING in a one hundred fifty mile radius would be great.

There is a few but you'll go broke hauling them for what most of them are paying...

Try livestocknetwork.com. I haven't been on there for a long time, can't say I ever remember any horses on there. But they always had some cattle and hogs. I used to beable to view the loads for free, not sure if you can do that anymore.

Stay away from livestock network, it's one of the worst. nothing there worth moving the truck for, the guys posting some of those loads should be embarrased..

Jfaulk99 is right, as usual, but I will put a little finer point on it:
Horse and livestock hauling is usually not profitable for the same reason that delivering campers is usually not profitable.
1. Cost of entry is low. A dually and a gooseneck trailer can get you in the door.
2. You are competing with people who are not running the proper plates and insurance, so their cost of running is lower than yours.
But most of all,
3. Many people use this as a "retirement job" that they do for the travel and fun of being around horses. When you have a large group of people who do it as a hobby and don't need to make a living at it, then rates will go down.
Very similar to delivering campers. -
yeah dont do it theres no money in horse hauling!!
for real though, the above posters are correct, its hard to suceed without an established market.
Cowmobile Thanks this. -
What I've seen with "horse people" is they all think their animal, no matter how worthless, is the next million dollar show piece or is a special blend of feed away from winning the KY Derby. I couldn't imagine even hauling a hay bail for them.
