Own my truck outright. "Leased" into a carrier; their numbers, plates, customers.
I agreed to a load but now dispatched they want it delivered 2.5 days sooner. Would have to beat feet (poor mpg) and be upside down on my hours (drive nights).
Let them know I only agree to the load as originally described. Now they want me to pick up and relay off.
In a previous business with contracts for custom work I would notify the client for my intent to claim lost profits.
So this is trucking not a job shop. Any opinions? Thanks

How are you paid? Percentage? Mileage + Accessory pay?
Personally, I would tell them no ... unless it worked out financially for me. Your load planner/dispatcher will probably "punish" you either way it goes down pickup and rely vs just straight out cancel.dosgatos Thanks this. -
The pay is that low huh? Can only make a profit by getting 9 mpg at 45 mph?
jsnell, DieselDrivinDaddy, Rubber duck kw and 1 other person Thank this. -
Farmerbob1 Thanks this.

Their opinion is I committed to the load so I'm the one at fault . -
If it was me and it paid good I would be where it needed to be. But I don't have ELD

How slow were you planning to run it if it can be done legal, faster? -
My thinking on that route Portland to Green Bay is 600mi/day with a heavy box to get 6.8 (past experience)
At night this time of year not as much.
The point is not to drive harder to make up for getting jerked around.
Was just curious if anyone claims breach without having their own numbers. -
I will take a guess that Portland is Oregon.
That guess, your looking a about 2000 miles.
Best plan window says 40 to 42 hours drive time. This should cover weather and other minor delays.
Well doable load.
The question, is this a solo load or is it a team load? Next is did you commit to a team load as a solo driver?Last edited: Nov 27, 2018

Your numbers make little sense .. if you plan on 600 miles max per day it’s 3.5 days now you say they want 2000 miles in a single day???
