They need to pay something for your time, they need to pay or they will just keep doing it, come on, if we all so no to this crap they will go out of business!
-
Ask for $500. You lost a day of revenue.
Tb0n3, Dave_in_AZ and Tug Toy Thank this. -
spyder7723 and Blackshack46 Thank this.

$750 to wait or $500 TONU and find another load. No time for "come back tomorrow."
I had an "order not ready yet" at a shipper that I had an appointment with and I asked for $250 to wait 2 hours.
Time literally is money for us.
If you book loads in advance, a "sorry" doesn't cover you being late for your next load.Gearjammin' Penguin, 1951 ford, Opendeckin and 1 other person Thank this. -
I asked for $1,000 settled for $750. Had to wait over night for a crane. There screw up not mine. Time is money.
Trucker61016, Tug Toy and mitmaks Thank this. -
If asked 100 brokers or customers to pay Layover, TONU or Detention of 1000 or more a day on a load that pays 3000. How many would you say agree? My guess is 1.
With a dry van there is no way anybody pays that. So no TONU, detentions, layover payments are of any significance. If they happen that's just too bad.Last edited: Jun 19, 2018
