I recently loaded a sleeper with an empty reefer trailer. He was 4 hours late for pickup, got lost, and didn't know East from West in the Denver Metro of all places. He wouldn't take the 43,750 I had ready to roll (he said 35,000 was his max) so I loaded him 6 pallets short for 34,662 based on my good pallet scale. Trucker just rolled scales and texted me he is at 12620, 32200, 32720 T-77540. Is it really possible that his rig weighs in empty at around 42,750 (77540-34662)? That sounds really heavy even for a sleeper and a reefer set-up. Is this guy blowing smoke because he left 6 pallets behind on a dock and he was 4 hours late for pickup to boot?

Must have a really long truck with an ARI custom sleeper to be that heavy.

My truck and two trailers weigh about that empty.

Maybe he has a large collection of lead statues and figurines in his cab?

That's crazy heavy imo, I've seen some "large car" style sleepers still be able to load 43k gross and scale legal.

He was just making sure the partial load would fit.

Blowing smoke if not being that heavy it must be hard to find people to only load 35k what truck did he have and trailer . Spread axle trailer?

Maybe he's hauling a partial for someone else on the same load?
