The really bad thing about these freight haulers with the light loads and governed trucks is that they'll drive like heck thru a town with a 30 MPH speed limit, passing everyone who has passed their slow self not 2 miles before. Then when you get thru town there they are, in the way not going nowhere on the open highway...

The same through construction zones and the truck stop parking lot, it's the only time they can speed, so I guess it makes them feel cool.. It's ok though the elogs keep them safe..

Oh ya right! You mean you are asking a fellow driver to be courteous? Good luck with that! I think they have been teaching the "every man for himself" technique at the mills lately!

I drive a 65 mph truck. If I come up on a truck going slightly slower, I will wait for a long break before I start the elephant race. I used to drive an ungoverned truck and I don't want to be one of those drivers who jump out in front of the faster trucks at the drop of a hat. I know how it felt to be cruising along at 75 only to have a slow truck pull right out in front of me to take forever passing a slightly slower truck.

Somethings don't need to be written or legal . The loaded truck thing is one of those. Like respecting your elders, being nice to kids etc. And I give plenty. I could have pinned swift in , but I backed out of it.
And when he couldn't go anywhere, I went around him .......

But what do I know,I don't get out much...ha ha

There's a reason they make right lanes. It's hard to get passed by a Volvo on the right side if you're in it.

Be curious to know what the speed limit was or the speed of traffic. I know there's been so many times I'm staying a safe distance from the vehicle in front of me in heavy traffic. Speed limit might be 55/65....whatever. Traffic might be moving 45-50....and I'll have a known governed truck come hauling butt up on a side of me, faster than traffic, and jump right in front of me. Thus making me tailgate....and then slow down. It's just retarded. I expect that type of moronic behavior from four wheelers but you would think "professional" drivers would have more intelligence than that.

No different being stuck behind a truck at 55-62 on a two lane high way....come into a small town that jumps to four lane but slows down to 45. Time and time again, that driver just doesn't slow down. They have a chance to slow down to the speed limit or even a touch under and let traffic pass them. But no, don't wanna do that. Instead the only way to pass them is to really speed and get around them.

I don't know the actual situation from the OP and I don't know about the loaded trucks have right away deal. I know if I'm loaded and there's big hills to pull, I jump in the right lane, regardless of traffic conditions and do not impede traffic. But I also know there's so many drivers out there from those mega carriers in their 62 mph trucks that have no business in the seat. Watch them....I don't think the majority even use their mirror before they change lanes sometimes.

I'd much rather see people working than sitting on their butts getting government handouts. But come on....use some common sense and respect out on the road. The world doesn't revolve around you're steering wheel and cab.

You admit to going over 75 mph up a hill carrying 100,000 lbs hundreds of times? You are a danger society.
