loads

    hello everyone, i am new here and am thinking about buying a truck how can i find out how much loads pay so i can figure out my finances and see if this will be a woerth while venture

    Ok....this is a hypothetical situation.... Identical loads....going to the same place

    Day 1.... shipper has 10 loads.... and there are only 5 trucks avialable.... shipper pays $2.00 mi because trucks are scarce.

    Day 2... shipper has 5 loads.... there are 10 trucks available.... Shipper pays $1.20 mi because everybody is looking to get loaded.

    You need to check on some local companies in your area and see what the loads out pay. Most likely you will be disappointed as freight off the East Coast usually is cheap because there are 10,000 trucks competing for 5,000 loads. UNLESS you can find a customer or 2 that will give you the good stuff.....then, that makes a difference.

    But the answer is.....it all depends on the day.....this is a crazy business.

    call the company your planning on leasing to and ask them what thier frieght averages,in diffent areas, plus the gross figures for high and low o/o for the year along with mileage estimates
