Couple other companies have that deal also. Probably figure they can contact you later when openings occur, because they know how you were trained.
Doesn't cost the company but very little to have an extra student in class that may not be needed immediately.

You can contact the two Las Vegas terminals and let them know you graduated from YRC school and interested when an opening occurs.
Local Account with CR England, too good to be true?

Old Dominion in Las Vegas is the same type company as YRC. If you go through YRC school, you'll have the training and endorsements Old Dominion requires.

I'm not defending CR England by any means, but sometimes you can find a gem in a pile of manure...
I personally know a driver/trainer who runs a dedicated drop/hook from southern Cali to Idaho a few times a week. He owns a bar business back home in Cali and spends most of his spare time running it.
I spoke to him once and he told me he was grossing 100k as a driver/trainer...
As far as his credibility, he is a good trainer who actually takes some pride in mentoring, which is a rare thing these days.
Just something positive to think about...gentleroger, Lonesome, Truckermania and 1 other person Thank this. -
YRC may not work out. I'm going to confirm, but I've read they don't allow pets and I have a small dog. Bummer. I haven't checked FedEx but I have a question. Swift allows pets, their terminal is in Lathrop which is 1:40 from my home. My question is: Is the Lathrop terminal the only place I can leave my truck when I go home for a few days? Or, is there overnight parking closer to me (San Mateo county)? What do truckers do with their trucks when they go home?
-
Better ask Swift about that. I see Swift trucks all over Las Vegas and Henderson parked on side streets and vacant lots for days at a time, so Swift must allow the drivers to take the trucks home.

Agreed, like mini swift yards all over the place!!Chinatown Thanks this.
