As the title says I'm trying to get into driving tankers locally in ct.... Not trying to go to New York, very unfamiliar with where to start, hours and the whole operation. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I was looking on Craigslist and a saw some ###### good hourly rates on there but I just don't trust them honestly.
Thanks, big john

Island transport (may still have ct terminal)
Penn tank lines (may or maynot have terminal for fuel but i think genesis (flatbed side) does)
Prospect transport ( alternative fuels) may or maynot have.
Get away from craigslist and try indeed.BentleyB, John Dewart and crazeydude Thank this. -
Thanks for the pointer. Have you hauled gas before? Does it suck?
-
i would think the worst part of the job would be maneuvering the truck into all of the tiny gas stations. and dealing with the motoring public all day.
-
From what I heard I thought you did it at night, I'm not sure but it made sense, you would definitely get more done that way
-
Not all jobs are night jobs. The work isn't difficult to learn but it requires attention and common sense. It doesn't suck and don't worry about the gas stations. Practice makes perfect.

Awesome, I'll check around, thank you for the pointers

If you're specifically looking for fuel hauling- lot of outfits are setup around new haven and Bridgeport.
Whereas if you want a tanker job hauling whatever: there's milk haulers, and outfits that put other products in tanks. May be closer to home.John Dewart Thanks this. -
Well reason why I'm interested in gas hauling, is the pay is pretty ###### good for being local, I've seen a couple places offering mid 20s per hour, I'm currently otr and don't mind it at all, but if I can make the same and get home every night, why not
