I was considering Mast Trucking. They're close by and seem to have options that I'd be okay with.
Two things. One: Those options, as far as I'm aware are only available after a year. Two: The pay seems sketchy. Their cents per mile are low and they try to make up for it with various incentives like fuel bonuses and safety bonuses. -
Yrc will hire anybody with a pulse and they have alot of terminals in Ohio. Lot of union #### to put up with though

The only Schneider accounts, that I am aware of, in Ohio that would fit what you are looking for would be the dedicated Walmart accounts. However, you have to live within 75 miles of wintersville/steubenville or 125 miles of Washington Courthouse (Columbus). Depending on which part of the northeast you are in Wintersville may or may not work. You'd get a lot of good experience if you went with that, and a LOT of backing from super easy to WTF.

I'm kinda pissed at them this week but they hire in your area and if you need a driving job it something to think about. They hire new driver now. They are more desperate for drivers now. No notheast.

Forgot to mention, sni says home weekly but wintersville only has a 200mi operating radius so I was home most nights. (They may bluster about this but don't take crap from ANYONE. I also only lived 6 miles away.).
The only iffy part is weekends off. You CAN do this as a flex driver but they will tell you no as a full time driver. However, if you work 6 then take 2 off you will have weekends off on a cycle. -
Get on with the LTL companies as they are in need of drivers, check out Estes, old dominion, pitt ohio, saia, rl carriers, xpo carriers and dayton freight. If im not mistaken @Bob Dobalina currently works in Dayton freight he might fill you if they hire new drivers.
Good luckSingingWolf and Bob Dobalina Thank this.
