    Hi,

If you are in the first mile/last mile business in NY/NJ area, what universal rules do you have in regards to number of stops you can safely and comfortably make, how many miles per day you can comfortably run(I understand NYC is different. I am asking about surrounding areas in NY and NJ). It is understood there are no two days alike, but on average, what's your average speed and how long normal stop take(both residential and business). How does your higher, than average productive day look like?

Really depends on the distance between stops and the size of the load.

On one end a FedEx/UPS type driver might stop 150 times in a day and 85% of his stuff might be no bigger than a priority mail box, and all inside of a 35 mile radius.

On the other hand,,, I spent today delivering couches. *ugh* Took about 15-20 minutes per store and the stores were 30 minutes apart each. Put in about 300 miles in 9 hours.
