    17/hr in rural Oregon is not good money. Not even close. 22/hr is ok to start. 25/hr and your making a living.

    Agreed, that's been my experience working various local jobs. I was spending more time with allot more stress in the truck... (Hectic days, picks and drops) and making less money.... Allot less money.
    When i hear guys pounding the desk for that local holy Grail i just laugh too myself and go ok, I can get you plenty of local work if that's what you really want.

    I sleep better for sure when on the road, my "commute" to bed is very short lol!!

    14s and usually one 16hr shift were the norm with local and then you had commute on each end.... No REAL time with my family or Sleep... NO thanks!!
