Twas a chilly night in West Memphis. Steady wind of 9mph or so with temperature of about 25.

I'm inflating every tire since they were all between 90-95. Got done freezing my jewels off. Put glad hand hose in passenger seat and closed the door. Went to driver side and it was locked. I don't know why the doors locked. But I didn't lock them before getting out. And I got the hose out the passenger side. Didn't climb up to get the hose out,so I don't see myself accidentally hitting the button at that point.

Anyhow. Guard shack didn't have a spare set. And the shop was closed and my phone is in truck. I broke the window and called dispatch. And he directed me to safety. Which I asked if this would be an accident. He replied yes because I broke it.

My question is will this hurt me in the long run. I plan on moving to another company in 2 months once I have 6 months experience.

This is a preventable accident. What I would have done was use the guard shacks pbone call wrecker and they. could have got it unlocked without damaging anything.Your company may charge you for a new window. But to answer your question,if you have a good. record then doubt this accident will tarnish your chances with other employers.

Getting locked out was accidental. Breaking the window to get back in was intentional. So I guess you can tell future employers you accidentally locked yourself out.

Really, I wouldn't worry about it. Any company that would hold it against you as an accident isn't a company you want to work for.

    Accident, SMH.

Seriously, you can explain to whom ever what happened. I would not worry about it.

Ya know....I should have done that. I was 15 minutes from multiple truck stops. Oh well. Got the load there on time still.

Somewhere in my posting history you will find a story of mine where I locked myself out of my new prostar over in the wee hours of the morning. I think it was a thread about keeping large amounts of money on Fuel Cards. Because I had to call a locksmith to come out and get me in. It was cold and I did not have a jacket on. This locksmith charged me a lot of money but took EFS checks. I used my own money and got him a code. After this I hid a key under my hood in a place not easy to see. A good company should consider this just an incident. In my case if the weather had been much colder I would have got something heavy and broke mine too. I'm not going to risk hypothermia just to avoid this, no matter how crazy it is.

It happens next time don't bust the wondow call a wrecker you pay for it and your company don't need to know anything.
