2 weeks ago they allowed me to sit on the shoulder in Texas for 4.5 hours. Wiper blade popped off on driver side. Couldn't make it to an exit so I pulled to shoulder. Sent macros and got road side calling after 1.5 hr. Took a nap waiting for them. Woke up and 4 hours was my time waiting. Sent macro saying how much longer? Got call .5 later saying vendors are all closed and it will be am,would I mindnswapping passenger blade to driver side.

I could have been told that from the beginning. Wipers need to be issued to the truck. Sucked getting up there in raing but I'd rather get on hood than to sit on shoulder with 75 speed limit and folks not getting over.

I would have swapped it immediately. Can't see a road call because you lost a wiper. And its dangerous sitting on the shoulder of the road. No way could I have slept 4 hours on the side of the road. Our boss might have fired you for that move.

^^^ WTF you wait for 4.5 hours waiting for Swift to send a service truck out to you for a wiper blade. What makes you think sending out $300-$500 service call for a wiper blade was practical? I was a little sympathetic to you plot but after reading about your wiper blades, I am sure that is an indication to future issues.

Well I guess Swift deserves the drivers they get.

They don't send out a unit to put a wiper blade on. Now if the whole arm snaps off they would send someone out. They hold drivers responsible for making sure during pre trip that all equipment is functional. I carry an extra set of blades in my truck at all times.

Too early to tell but I suspect they won't in this case.

Use common sense. You will never be able to last at a smaller better company doing stuff like that. What if a car ran up under your trailer while you were in the sleeper on the shoulder? What macro would you send then.
